I'm so sad that this is happening. Why aren't people more outraged? Probably because we're exhausted. It would change so much if a network like Fox News covered this with the same tenacity that they attacked previous presidents. He said he would not touch the white house, and then he tore some of it down. I have to think the Maga crowd would care, but I truly think they don't know. These images are not reaching them.

@AngelaPreston I know @heathercoxrichardson.substack.com is "heartbroken" about it, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people are disgusted. Colbert mentioned it on the Late Show, I think?
If the mainstream media doesn't start making a fuss about this, then that just underscores that they are a big part of how he ever got elected in the first place.

@woozle I am heartened when more mainstream folks start making some noise. But I need media outlets that my mom would have watched to pick this up and run with it. She stopped watching Colbert back when he was still on comedy central (she stopped when she realized he was not serious - at first she thought his character was real).

We have to recapture the media, or this BS will keep happening. We can do so much better than this.
