This prompted me to get my own books out and I had forgotten all about the covers. I like the dragon on the Hobbit, but it's not quite as whimsical as the one above. #WithAltText@DenOfEarth @ausir the Dutch covers of the LOTR series do retain a bit of whimsy, although they are definitely darker than that of the hobbit.
