this partly exists as a reminder to everyone complaining under FauxPseudo’s last challenge post that you, too, can make posts here; it is not meant to be a slight against FauxPseudo, who’s just trying to provide fun content for the community.

you are on the set of The Great British Bake Off, and have access to every appliance and utensil there. you’re here to cook.

the time limit is 4 hours. after that, you must present what you have made to judges Paul Hollywood and Nigella Lawson, who will make fun of you if it’s bad.
(not actually. but pretend you had 4 hours to prepare this meal, and that i could afford the judges.)

your ingredients are:

a dozen bagels

10 bars of dark chocolate

17 chilli peppers

15 mini babybel cheese snacks

8 egg yolks

3 boxes of pancake mix

a bag of tuna floss

a jug of milk

a bottle of rapeseed oil

a large block of pink salt

one strawberry.

all listed ingredients must be used to some degree, and you can’t add any more. you’re allowed to have leftovers as long as everything’s used once.

i haven’t provided exact measurements (partly because i’m writing this to procrastinate university work and don’t have time for that) so please assume reasonable quantities for each.

what would you make?

No slight taken. I literally said in my last comment on that whole thing that it’s not my group. It’s a volunteer community and anyone can post any challenge they want to with all the rules that make them comfortable. So I’m 100% with you on this.

That just leaves the tuna floss… Which I don’t have a lot of experience with but could probably be added to the eggs.

Fish floss, also known as fish flakes or dried fish, is a type of preserved fish product that has been gaining popularity worldwide. The manufacturing process of fish floss involves several steps, starting with the selection of fresh fish, which is then cleaned, scaled, and cut into small pieces. The fish pieces are then cooked in a large amount of water or steam to remove excess moisture and break down the proteins. This process helps to soften the fish and prepare it for the next steps.

After cooking, the fish is then mashed or ground into a fine paste, which is then dried using various methods such as sun drying, oven drying, or vacuum drying. The drying process removes excess moisture from the fish paste, making it crispy and fluffy. The resulting fish floss can be seasoned with various ingredients such as salt, sugar, and spices to enhance its flavor. The final product is a crispy, flavorful, and nutritious snack that can be enjoyed on its own or used as an ingredient in various recipes.

Roast some of the chilis, make a puree, add it to the melted dark chocolate and strain. Slice some of the bagels into chips and toast. Enrobe the toasted bagel chips in the chili chocolate. Top each one with a thin slice of strawberry.

With the remaining babybels, egg yolks, milk, pancake mix, tuna floss, and salt, make some kind of tuna melt fritter fried in the rapeseed oil.

Thinly slice the baby bells and toast up some of the bagels. Put the baby bells on the bagels and heat them to melt the cheese. Grind a little salt off the block and sprinkle on.

Make pancakes with yolks in the middle. Not quite a froggy in the hole, but close. Gonna be bland without syrup or butter unfortunately.

Shred the chocolate and use the milk to make chocolate milk.

Looked up fish floss, what a weird name. Not sure I can make something happen with that or the rest of the ingredients.
