One of the reasons I listen to books is that it's the best format for my flavor of ADHD.

@DejahEntendu
Are they doing this on libro.fm?Not that I've seen. But I get most of my audiobooks from my local library.

be on a separate track from the actual book? And give us the option to remove that track if we don't want it?
Who really wants to listen to someone slurp every time the author mentions a character drinking? Seems like it'd be a nightmare for someone with misophonia!
I really hope this doesn't grow, because right now my choices are print, this crap, or Amazon Audible recordings. Ugh.
As someone with misophonia, yes, it is a nightmare that will cause me to drop the media source immediately and forevermore. I cannot properly express the depths of revulsion and distress that result from getting an unexpected slurp or whisper in my headphones.

@starhawk
I know I don't actually know what you go through with it, but this is the first time I've come close to really understanding it.I suspect it's rather like how I react when people mention fast zombies. (Just typing that was stressful!)

@pteryx
I stand corrected. This is the exact title I was listening to.

@DejahEntendu
"Dramatized" and abridged? Sounds like something that probably uses noise where description of noise would exist in order to shorten the runtime. I'd expect fewer such things in an unabridged reading that wasn't "dramatized". -

But I don't really need to hear slurping drinks, crowds being rowdy, people walking, people having sex...

@DejahEntendu
I'm not disputing that, just figuring that there are keywords one could keep an eye out for that would help one avoid what one doesn't want and find what one does. -

And once that's done, my options are this crap or but it from Amazon from the "Audible Only!" collection.

@DejahEntendu
Ugh. Don't know what to tell you there beyond telling your library what kind of audiobooks you'd rather have and that you don't want those kinds of replacements to happen. -
