I imagine that Russia was Ukraine’s biggest trading partner before 2012. Reducing trade with Russia probably didn’t seem feasible to some ukrainians before the war started.
The newly authoritarian US is threatening our country. What choice do we have but to reduce trade with them? I know Canada will be much poorer now that we have been betrayed by our former ally, but i would rather be poor than under that shithead’s boot.

We have the choice to work with the US, go sit down and work out a deal not go fly all over are world and talk shit about the US and Trump. That is what got Trump pissed off at Gov Trudeau. When we are the only country standing with China and not willing to work with our ally and neighbor. Now this picture is from a while ago (months) but it reflects how Carney has been acting during this trade war it does not look good for us standing alone with china.
