Wandering Adventure Party

It's endlessly fascinating to me how much my personal tastes and feelings about certain genres have shifted over my gaming "career." I used to not care about cyberpunk as a genre at all. I didn't get it. Now it's one of my favorites.

Coming up on 3 weeks of working on an educational, fun, & accessible TTRPG for my Pokémon-obsessed eldest. I’m aiming for a Pre-K/K audience. Hitting on conservation, biology, and simple math, and reading/spelling, among others, as the driving curriculum. I think I may really have something here.

I think a goal of mine is to create something cool enough that someone asks me to be part of a stretch goal. That seems actionable and reasonable.

It’s just a bit tonally too dark for my tastes. I think there’s a lot of really good stuff in the book though. I really enjoy how much the layout and design shook up the scene when it first came out.

I finally got around to picking up Cy_Borg and the Asset Pack after hearing lots of praise. I am excited to check this out and think it'll be more up my alley than Mork.

There is something endlessly cool about having print copies of gaming stuff you’ve made in your hands. The physicality of it makes it feel more real to me than just a PDF.

Did I just make a cover for a game that I've not even written just purely based on vibes? Yes. Why do I do this to myself?

I have finalized my FIVE campaign pitches for my Daggerheart session 0 tomorrow. I'll be curious to see what ends up making the cut. The rest I'll probably do quick and dirty write ups of as campaign frames as I've already put some work into them.

Same. I keep getting emails asking me to get on the ground floor and the like. I’ll support projects I like, and I don’t really like being solicited.

Daggerheart session one tonight. We’re running the Sabelwood Messengers QuickStart, and if everyone digs it, I’ll have them make characters. Always excited to check out new systems. I think this one will be a hit for the types of games and stories we like to play.

I got my copy of Mythic Bastionland today. And wow. What a book!

I see all of these play reports of various TTRPGs and there are times that I'm hit with the feeling of "are we even playing the same game?" Not from a judgmental standpoint. (Maybe actually a bit jealous?) But mostly just in awe of how wildly different the same game can be at two different tables.

I’m really enjoying flipping through the Mystic Bastionland PDF. I cannot wait to have the print in my hands! In the interim, give me a d6 and d12 roll (unsummed), and I’ll tell you what knight you are.

I keep reminding myself that come November, I’ll have 15-ish hours each week of free time in the mornings. I have no idea what I’m going to do, but I’m hoping I’ll finally be able to re-engage with my hobbies in a meaningful way. Maybe catch up on five years of lost sleep too
