Patlabor, but it's about trash collection labors or construction labors or something.

Also there's a new series coming out next year that they've been working on since 2016, which is... I mean, that's a whole decade, man. O_o;
I'm enjoying the Patlabor series a lot more than the OVA. The tone's like a total 180 from the serious tone of the movies, but frankly, so was the OVA. The series at least has the excuse of being in a different continuity.

Also the series actually has time for characterization, which is nice.
And Ohta is less insane, the whole "gun-happy cop, but he's *funny*" really did not age well >_>;

Watching more Patlabor with lunch and it occurs to me they've had more cryptids than crimes on this show so far.
Escaped lab experiments: 2
Criminals arrested on-camera: 1
...Hikers spooked: 5

But then I know the Japanese are loathe to admit that crime actually takes place in Japan, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@CactuarJoe Reminds of the story Aaron Archer told about talking to TakaraTomy folks about designing toys to be less likely to break/easily fixed if broken (like ball joints) and they were like, “Japanese children do not break their toys.

Okay this is the *third* cryptid episode, guys. Surely you can do something more interesting with this setup.

@CactuarJoe given the use of robots, why is it not CRYPTID KAIJU FIGHTS? (or is it?)

@xerozohar It kinda should be, but they keep Scooby Doo-ing this shit. It's starting to get annoying.
