I'm not sure how but I think ttrpg bluesky is now more aggravatingly smoothe-brained than r/rpg.

Every couple of days at the moment it's "this entirely normal way of playing RPGs is sick and wrong"

And you think Oh... It's just some idiot but no no... It is invariably someone incredibly well respected with 5-digit follower numbers.

@Taskerland I've seen a handful of comments lately about Bluesky RPG chatter and I've seen none of the things any of the comments refer to.

Which leads me to believe I've done a good job curating my Bluesky feed. 😆

Not that my feed there is worth a damn. It's just blissfully free of the stuff I've seen reported.

@SJohnRoss It's deliberate... They are all terrified of drama so rather than linking to something and having dumb takes, they vague post about it. This only makes the takes hotter.

@Taskerland Well I'm grateful either way; it sounds annoying. 😮

My basic impression of Bluesky is that it's mostly noise and mostly politics, and unlike here, the curation tools are skimpy so I can't stem the politics at all. So, I visit once a day and shrug, mostly. I refuse to doomscroll, so I come back here and scroll photos of trees, cats, and RPG shelves.

@Taskerland You shouldn't torture yourself, you have well trained piglen brothel mongers for that.

@Printdevil It does feel like digital self-harm at times.

@Taskerland That's the problem with actually caring in the face of blank herd following antipathy merchants.

@Printdevil For my sins, I am interested in the broader hobby. It is penance for all of those long-suffering Piglen.
