Canada vows to defend Greenland against the US if Trump invades
-
Canada is a member of nato
So if a nato country is attacked…
Does that still apply if the attacked country was somewhat provoking the attack? Greenland isnt in NATO so Canada defending it assuming NATO will defend Canada if the US retaliates seems like a loophole that could be abused to drag NATO into conflicts.

I wouldn’t put it past them to decide fuses are “woke” or some shit and it burns down on its own.
The SS won’t let OSHA inspect the job site and it burns down when a contractor leaves a kerosene heater pointed at a barrel of acetone.

I’m gonna give Canada a free pass on any war crimes they commit this time

Dude… Greenland has been in NATO since the beginning.

According to this source greenland is not a member of nato. The comment I replied to implies this as well.
Edit: greenland itself isnt but denmark is. I’ve read some conflicting info on if NATO would have to interfere or not. Eitherway the fact it has this close of ties to NATO and we are still discussing an invasion and NATO hasn’t openly come out and told trump explicitly that it will be involved is concerning.

Canada vows to defend Greenland against the US if Trump invades
Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney said his country would honour its NATO obligations to defend Denmark and Greenland, putting Canada at odds with the US

Canada, getting ready to invade, has amassed 90% of its population along its border with the United States. The longest unprotected border in the world.

I hope we don’t burn it down, it’s such a pretty building. It’s already been damaged enough by the megalomaniac.
I’d be OK if we just turned it into a Spirit Halloween for a season or something.
We probably should burn it down with how awful he’s made the interior look with all that Temu gold plating and crap.
Burn it down so they can start fresh. You’re never gonna get the Trump stank out of there.

That’s just… factually wrong. Greenland is an autonomous part of The Kingdom of Denmark, and has therefore been a member of NATO since it’s founding in 1949.

Europe, Canada, and Latin America against US.

Is it a threat to another country if you move your military further away from your border with them?
It’s a threat in the sense of “if you’re fighting them, you’re fighting us”. The long shared border, not to mention culture, should give the Americans pause. In many ways, it would look an awful lot like a civil war. Not to mention that a lot of Americans should reasonably be more aligned with Canada than the Trump regime. Then again, it would be unsurprising with a vast majority of Americans either siding with the regime or running and hiding.

Oh my God, could this be any worse?

It’s probably in their best interest to get the US to waste as much resources as possible there.

The Americans (government) could stop this at any moment if they choose to.

tRump wanted out of nato, imagine taking the stupidity route out…
That’s the only route Trump knows.

Suspicious old me, I have to wonder, did Prime Minister Mark Carney know a head of time that if he sent any Military personnel to Greenland, Trump would impose another 25 percent tariff on Canada, like Trump is threatened to do with the four other countries that did? Canada did not send any soldiers to Greenland as a sign of solidarity, as I thought he would have. I wonder why?

I don’t think Trump’s tariffs on his country’s imports are as effective a threat as Trump thinks they are.
