‘We miss you,’ U.S. senators tell Canada as Lutnick vows tariffs will stay

we miss you, because we know that the instability in our relationship right now has meant that some Canadians have decided to stay away from their favorite American tourist spots, and we hope you will come back
Fucking whoosh. Americants: you hope in vain.
Not coming back. Not ever. For your treachery, we will grind into dust and ash that which you formerly benefitted from.
Fuck. You.

Don’t miss you one iota. Get bent.

I can’t help with the article but his sentence seems to be translated from French, or built like it was. It’s much clearer if you can imagine he said it in French.
If he said, or thought “Il n’est pas question de négocier…”, it translates to “there’s no question”, but it means there is no possibility, that it’s not on the radar, that it won’t change. It’s an expression that just implies a strong no.
“Out of the question” is probably best

We don’t miss you, and by the way TALK TO YOUR GUY, not us. We didn’t decide to start a trade war for funsies and alienate ourselves. Thanks, bye.

Don’t care one bit. We’re doing fine without the US and finding alternate markets. The US is dying now anyway.

How touching. Let me play a sad tune on Canada’s smallest violin. 🥺
I don’t even have to actively look for small violins anymore thanks to shrinkflation.
