I hope the other 30% are just kids that don’t like needles

Let’s ban vape flavors to protect kids, but you fucking don’t give them life-saving medicine!

The sad thing is, I’m willing to bet that those 30% are basing their choices on either a lack of factual information, or a misperception about vaccines based on disinformation (i.e. that they cause autism). And a few probably for religious reasons, which is sad because religion should never be used to hurt kids.

If there was a genuine sit down with those 30% to ask what their concerns are, I’m willing to bet that the majority of them would change their mind.

You can’t make vaccinations “mandatory”, but you can make them the basic benchmark for participation in society.

In Ontario and New Brunswick, proof of vaccination is already required for children to attend school. But parents can get an exemption in both provinces for medical, religious or philosophical reasons, as long as they fill out a form.

This right here is the problem. Kids should need vaccinations to go to school or to receive government benefits of any kind, unless there is a firm medical reason that precludes them. Religious or philosophical excuses are not sufficient. If you don’t want to get vaccinated then you don’t want to participate in modern society.

I’m terrified of needles and even I am extremely pro vaccines

When I was a kid in the 60s and 70s you had to have all of your vaxxes before registering for school (kindergarten to Gr 12). There were no exceptions allowed except for allergies to egg, but there were few kids back then that were allergic to eggs.

Seriously.

The kids who are actually vulnerable need their peers vaccinations rates as high as possible. That’s literally the point of herd immunity. God I just wish for one fucking second people weren’t so god damned selfish. There are literally children fucking dying because of this shit, right now. It’s fucking infuriating.

First Nations might not be happy with what you’re suggesting

Factual information comes from the authority of the hour. The authority of the hour is determined by vast mindless forces.

I lived in a developing country for a time - childhood vaccines would have saved so many kids lives….yes they should be mandatory. In the sense that you cannot access services if unvaccinated eg. Daycare, schools, healthcare services.

At the very least if your child gets someone sick with a preventable desease they should be held liable.

Instead of demanding that the peers get vaccinated they could just stay away from the peers.
