Yep! I’ve seen a couple, and reported them, but they could easily trap a less aware/critical person into clicking the link and being scammed/whatever.

I’ve reported it as well, but still continue to see it.
The first time I saw it it was incredibly obvious, but lately it seems to have smoothened out. Not sure if that’s my internet connection or if YouTube is processing it differently on their end. If you don’t pay close attention, I wouldn’t be surprised if people were to be fooled by it.

Where are people seeing these deep fakes of Carney? Is it only on youtube? I was paying for YouTube premium prior to January but stopped with the boycott US movement and moved to the app Unwatched, highly recommend it has all the personal benefits of youtube premium without the personal costs!

On a side note, Kyle from Secular Talk is based and tells like it is. Primarily grass roots funded and has been pushing candid leftist talking points for a long time. I always recommend him for coverage of US politics when I get a chance.

Went searching for Unwatched and it seems it’s only for Apple. Call me sad for that.

Oh did not know that, I am sure there are other apps.
Edit Pihole doesn’t block YouTube ads in the browsers, I am unsure about ad guard, or Ublock origin. The browser I switched to as I am trying to move away from Apple things does though, it is Vivaldi it is some EU browser. Sure they have some office space in the US but I am sure that is just marketing. Just make sure Youtube is not installed on your phone or tablet.

I think I’ve reported 4 different versions of these ads. They look pretty near identical for the little bit I watch before I report, but the advertiser is always different, but also based in Poland.

Used to watch every video of his, but I watch him more sporadically now since his awkward tweet where he said it was alright to deadname Caitlyn Jenner because of her politics.
Him leaving the tweet up doesn’t bother me considering that he’s stated he leaves all of them up for transparency even if he no longer agrees with them, but what does annoy me is how he’s never gone back to correct himself. I know he’s not an outright transphobe, but that still doesn’t sit right with me.

There is nothing better than uBlock Origin for blocking ads.

When I reported it this is who it says is paying for the ads.

If someone who is trans goes out of their way to not support their own community because they are rich enough to avoid the negative effects of the current US position on trans rights then they should be treated with absolutely no respect.
Like an Uncle Tom selling out their own people, or Lindsay Graham existing.

So what you’re saying is that basic human rights are conditional?
I can disagree with Caitlyn Jenner for taking the side of people actively campaigning against the trans community while also acknowledging that she deserves to be called the name she identifies with.
What message does this send to trans people? It says that their bare basics rights are conditional based on what they believe. A trans man can watch and follow the values of Andrew Tate, and with that fact I can call his values gross while also affording him basic human rights in addressing him by his name and using his correct pronouns. These are non-negotiable, and acting like they are plays into right-wing narratives both about trans people, and those who are left-wing.

One of my relatives fell for this scam, unfortunately.

I prefer pihole as it blocks most ads and trackers across my LAN. When I saw hours much crap was being tracked on my “smart TV” I disconnected it immediately. When I look at the stats every once in a while I am amazed. Last night I was going all gung hoe at making sure everything on canyoublockit.com.
I also am very proud to say that I do not see most of the junk mail sent to me, without using a junk mail filter.

He repeatedly advocates and speaks up for marginalized groups, particularly migrants and LGBTQ people every chance he gets, specially because Trump regime is actively hostile towards them. The tweet is poor taste, short sided and I wish he had gone back and reflected on his response, but he is definitely not a transphobe, and is most definitely an ally.
Not the same, and doesn’t justify the tweet, but the sentiment reminds me when Jennifer Welch said that Republicans should be banned from eating from Mexican restaurants because, well, they’re fucking racist:

Same I have reported a few of them already, YouTube is very slow to do anything about stuff like this.

This is a pretty big stretch. It is not a human right that “everyone must call you by your chosen name”. That is a matter of respect. The person you’re responding to likewise brings up the point of respect. Like it or not respect isn’t a human right.

Deadnaming a trans person is equivalent to telling them they are not who they say they are. If you deadname a trans woman as some sorta “gotcha” because they disagree with you, even if their rhetoric and actions harm the very community they’re a part of, that’s not far off from being the type to say “YWNBAW”.
Their name is inherently connected to their identity. It’s one thing to call Caitlyn some smarmy Trump-esque name like “kookie Caitlyn”, or some other feminine name that isn’t hers to mock her like “Candace” or “Karen”, but in using her birth name/deadname, you are basically telling a trans person that their identity as their gender is invalid, and that they are only seen as the gender they identify with when they agree with you.
Instead of saying “you will never be a woman”, it says “you are only a woman when I feel like you deserve to be one”.

All over YouTube on Android for the last couple of weeks at least. I report them as scams but they keep coming.
That said, Newpipe deals with it.
