That’s not entirely true tbf. I know some people who work as electrical engineers in factories and the tariffs do hurt their businesses quite a lot

I’m not sure what the tarrifs currently are, but I’m not sure this is as dramatic as it sounds.

As an example, if the tarrifs are currently 30%, raising them 10% over and above what they currently are would make them 33%, right? …right?

Then again, he’s already proven that he can’t do maths

Baffle them with bullshit. Make so many changes nobody knows what’s happening.

Funny, I don’t recall paying a tariff? Did any of you? Those Americans certainly seem to be paying a lot in tariffs though.

US tariffs are on Canadian goods sold in the US. So, Canola, softwood lumber, auto parts, potash, etc.

I think you missed my point. Every time that orange idiot opens his face, he pisses his allies off and make them non-allies. He didn’t earn the relationship the US has with Canada by being diplomatic, but he has no problem demolishing it. His last term he dicked around and threw out a previously agreed upon trade agreement, so he signed a new one that was similar, and this term forgot that was his agreement and said it sucked.

Each time he dicks around, it motivates Canada to look elsewhere for reliable, trustworthy and sane long term partners. Since the US had decided it is no longer a friend of Canada and speaks of absorbing it, Canada has decided to stop shopping with the US as much as possible. This is how I now have avocados from Mexico. If the stores put US produce on the shelf, it rots. No one wants it simply because Trump is a huge piece of shit.

There is a growing desire in Canada for Chinese EV cars. They are just as shit as the US ones (except they charge faster and go further), but they’re way cheaper. Canada put a tariff on these cars to help protect the US auto industry. China had made Canada some nice trade offers, which aren’t so great for the US, but we haven’t taken them yet. Keep dicking around Trump. I want my Chinese EV.

I guess my point is, the more Trump tries to bully Canada, the better off Canada becomes.

Bigger picture: The US is failing, Canada sees this, and Trump is escalating it. This has really benefited Canada because we’re positioning ourselves to be better off when the US crumbles. Without Trump, I don’t think we’d be in as good position when it finally happens.

I think they also tariff Mexican goods, so Mexico redirects their exports here. So we get Mexican goods at lower prices. Due to the higher supply, lower demand.

Since Trump shit his pants, he didn’t need to keep running the ad. If Trump had kept his mouth shut, it would have been a blip. Since he filled his diapers, everyone has seen it, talked about it, heard of it, know of it. The ad did exactly what it was designed to do.

Why keep running it when it has become viral and people watch it for free?

                      Calm the fuck down.

This only effects Canadian products being sold to the U.S… Companies will raise the price of products, costing not us, but U.S. Americans. Their food banks are already running out in the mornings, he is litterly starving his country. While funneling money towards Argentina, and hurting his own American Farmers.

They already have protests for “No Kings”, at this rate their will be a collapse of the country, or a coup.

True! The more accurate way of putting it would be “our clients have to pay”.

Have yet to see Carney grow that spine. Maybe one day he’ll call on all U.S debts to be repaid to Canada, until that day elbows are at the lowest they’ve ever been.
