Jordan Peterson, the popular and polarizing psychologist, is held in high esteem by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, who has twice appeared on Peterson’s podcast, which draws millions of listeners worldwide.

A Tyee investigation has found that Smith’s admiration for Peterson went well beyond her affinity for him as a fellow conservative culture warrior.

Documents obtained through freedom of information request show that Smith, and her chief of staff, Rob Anderson, directly intervened with Alberta’s Advanced Education Ministry in an attempt to help Peterson’s higher-education business venture.

On Aug. 1, 2024, Smith met with Peterson “to discuss how his organization can work with the province to have their online training platform accredited.”

Jordan Peterson is currently hospitalized with extreme unexplainable illness, the symptoms of which, as a matter of pure coincidence, began almost instantly when he switched to eating only beef and salt. The family thinks he’s being attacked by demons and asks for our prayers

Is this satire? It feels like satire but several of those things have actually happened.

To the best of my knowledge it is 100% factual and accurate. We haven’t gotten an update from the family in a couple months. He’s still in the hospital but we don’t know how it’s going, other than he is “facing a long road to recovery”

As a matter of pure speculation: I assume he will never recover, because he probably only accepts treatments from quacks who support his extreme elimination diet

These guys pretending to be smart just want money and power, exactly like all of the other money/power shitheads. Cloaking yourself in “intellectualism” doesn’t take you very far in this day and age where everybody thinks they know everything.

This guy probably was smart at one point; idiots don’t tend to become university professors. Of course that was years ago and he’s since gone completely off the rails. My guess is what started out as a calculated grift slowly became his actual worldview. Kinda like the “fake it 'till you make it” principle, but pointing in the wrong direction.

I had to look it up because I wasn’t sure either but from what I read he was hospitalized back in October and that was a “spiritual attack” which may have just been pneumonia then hospitalized recently again claiming mould exposure and totally not pure beef and salt after getting out of the hospital previously.

It’s insecurity. It’s always severe, crippling insecurity of one form or another. That’s what drives some people to get some semblance of control over their lives no matter how much the method hurts others.

Peterson is different. JP has genuine psychological issues stemming from god knows what…but part of his mental illness is continuously trying to get revenge because he was rejected by who he thinks are his peers in the academic community.

Like…he always seems like he’s on the verge of tears or even a nervous breakdown. As a knee jerk I always feel sorry for him when I hear him speak…until I snap out of it and remember how destructive he is.
