GardaWorld Cash, one of several companies affiliated with GardaWorld — one of the world’s largest security services companies, according to its website — gave $5,000 to DeSantis’ Empower Parents political action committee in 2018. The political organization, which went by Friends of Ron DeSantis at the time, was created to support DeSantis’ first bid for governor.

GardaWorld has also been eyed for Florida’s immigration agenda before — it was one of the vendors picked by the state to fly migrants out of Florida. A representative from GardaWorld did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday evening.

It wasn’t clear to me where Canada comes in or what the ownership is, but clicking over to About GardaWorld it is clarified.

After identifying an opportunity to consolidate the fragmented private security industry, Stephan Crétier founded GardaWorld (then Trans-Quebec Security Inc.) in 1995 with a $25,000 investment derived from a second mortgage on his home. its also shoddy construction too, its just tents, and temprorary housing. and its conveniently placed in the path of HURRICANES. other people mentioned its also placed where they will be deported eventually as one of the deportation airlines is based in florida.

What does this have to do with our Prime Minister knowing about a large Canadian Company providing services to build a concentration camp?

obviously they got this job because it’s the kind of thing they do, which has been public information for a long time, they even post it to their website.

I don’t mean to be obtuse, I just really am not sure what you are telling me. Are you saying the Prime Minister (Carney, Trudeau, Harper, earlier?) should have already shut them down?

I scrolled all the way up 10 levels of comments, where admittedly people are kind of riffing. You should do the same. The top comment is this:

And I don’t see anyone saying anything subsequent about shutting down of anything.

What I am saying is that this company is facially evil. They are not even putting on much of a show otherwise. They are likely violating all kinds of laws at different levels.

Any government can place laws, regulation and boundaries on the actions of companies which are housed within it. If you scroll up I linked to a federal department which does just that. Theymake decisions about enforcement. I think it would have been possible at any time over the history of this company for the federal government to make use of the tools at its disposal to prevent some horrors from taking place. Not doing so was and is a choice. This is a giant company and even if you or I just learns of it this week, the federal government has been aware of it for the whole time.

The other person was making a joke about Carney’s euphemisms. I think the government as a whole institution is to blame and PM is a component of it.

That timeline is horrifying, as is their LinkedIn feed. They seem to position themselves as a private militia for corporate interests. If the Canadian government had any spine whatsoever they would seize all of their assets immediately.

I think I was just pigeon-holeing myself in regards to this exact situation and how silly I found it that people were happy to blame Carney specifically within hours of a story (about a private company doing evil) getting published, literally less than a few weeks totally of them specifically doing this particular evil.

I agree with “the government as a whole institution is to blame.” For having this type of private business at all.
