South Park targets Paramount after signing $1.5bn deal and skewers Trump: ‘He can do anything to anyone’

The anti-climate change, pro-Walmart, pro-Starbucks whatever-era was annoying as fuck. Like you said, it’s not directly South Park but their annoying fans taking their shit too seriously.
Internet threads talking about climate change had some “man bear big” bullshit going around.
The thing is that I watched South Park during that time too and I loved a lot of the episodes. I just didn’t take their commentary too seriously. I’m just like, “well they’re obviously wrong”. I was a Richard Dawkins fan and had no problem with them skewering him at the time either.

They were ripping on all of those things. Man Bear Pig wasn’t climate-change denial it was commentary on climate change denial.
Can’t blame south park for conservatives not getting shit. That’s their thing.

I meant that the fans were annoying as fuck. I think my post was to highlight that I enjoyed the episodes but hated the fans that came out of it.
Trey and Matt aren’t like climate scientists or whatever, they’re comedy writers with a political edge. Even if they’re blatantly wrong with their commentary I don’t really blame them. It’s that we take them too seriously.

Fair. I don’t interact with the people you do. But what you saying does explain why SP felt it necessary to spell it out in season 22. I’m guessing the guy in this scene is a parody of the folks you’re talking about.
I always saw manbearpig as a scathing criticism of how everyone ignored Al Gore because the effects of climate change weren’t visibly in front of us.

Matt & Trey got theirs. They don’t care if we don’t pay Paramount.
I set radarr up on one of my pi’s to get the episode. At the end of January through to mid April, I think, I was trying to write scripts (I barely know my way between a if and a fi but the scripts where written in bash) to automatically download things but when I finally got it working I told some friends about it who than smashed my hard work with telling me about the arr apps.
I think I started with Jackett because it worked with my scripts and Transmission. The friend introduced me to Sonarr and Radarr so I set them up to replace my scripts. Something happened a little while ago and my home lab freaked out and decided to stop working so I had to rearrange my stuff. I went deeper into checking out the *arr apps and discovered that prowlarr would be so much better than Jackett.
If something happens again I may look into other options but hopefully my current setup will work.

Right wing shill mod. No surprises, people who pursue positions of power are all utterly fucking rotten. You’re no exception
.
WTF is this?

The ending just about killed me. Couldn’t breathe for a few minutes there.
Ending is available on HeTrumpedUs.com which is shown on end the PSA.

I wasn’t sure whether to put it here but yes, Canada’s involved in this episode so I thought other Canadians might want to know or talk about it. The thing with throwing it in a different Canada-discussion commhnity is that likey very few would see it and discuss, because we’re still relativey small overall. For that reason I think the approach which gets more people interested in Canada to see content relevnt to Canada is to use the topmost Canadian community - /c/Canada. As the number of users grows, the increased noise in this community would necessitate moving more topics to more specific communities, and at that point they’ll get more engagement there.
I’ll unpin my comment and dismiss the report
That makes sense to me. Maybe we can encourage people to post them as text posts, with the link in the body and a title that makes it seem more like a discussion starting post?
At the same time, it’s not too difficult to check on the posts on a case by case basis at our current size, and by the time that’s no longer possible we would have the momentum to support other communities. So it’s not a big deal

Tone down the aggressive far right FUD flinging already. Are you even Canadian?
I really can’t tell if this is serious or sarcasm because of the original comment, but I’ll reply with the assumption that it’s serious:
The reason I followed up is because (as the other comment said), it seemed like news about an american show, discussing american political issues. While those issues are directly affecting life here in Canada, this community often gets complaints about having too much american news and content. We can already see and follow along with the same news in other communities, and some users come to this space to get away from all that.
Sometimes I can dismiss a report outright if I can see the relevance, and other times I might leave a comment asking about it, such as this post. The author replied with the justification and the post was left up.
Yes, I’m Canadian, and you’ll find that my post history reflects that

Show begins 27th season covering Trump’s lawsuit against Paramount and cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show, depicting Trump in bed with Satan
South Park has kicked off its 27th season with a blistering episode taking aim at Donald Trump and its newly minted parent company, Paramount, just one day after signing a $1.5bn deal with the network.
The premiere episode, “Sermon on the Mount,” sees Trump in bed with series regular Satan and covers topics including Trump’s lawsuit against Paramount, the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, wokeness, Trump’s attacks on Canada and more.
Unlike other characters, Trump is depicted as an actual photo of the US president on an animated body. There is also an extended scene featuring a hyper-realistic, deepfake video of Trump, completely naked, walking in a desert. There are repeated suggestions that Trump’s genitalia are small.
So this was absolutely incredible. Anyone else seen it?
I saw some of the clips (cause I havent sailed the high seas in awhile) but what I saw was in the category of “holy shit, I cant believe they did that” in their mockery of Trump. I mean its one thing to insinuate President Small Hands is, uh, tiny where it matters, but a very realistic looking Dirty Don with his miniature manhood was hilariously over the edge. Incredibly brave considering Mr. Micro loves to sue anyone or everyone who offends his overblown ego, but I think the boys know that in the court of public opinion a suit against a very popular comedy team isn’t going to go well for Donnie.
Between this episode and Powell cutting him off at the knees in a live interview, the Orange Turd hasn’t had a very good week. I dont think even the lovely Ms Leavitt can save his ass this time.

Yes baby, and thank you for your work!
