Carney Wants a Pipeline. Building One Will Be Harder Than It Sounds.

The Liberal government is pushing a ‘nation-building’ project to expand fossil fuel production, but no pipeline—eastward or westward—offers an easy path.

Does he actually want a pipeline, or does he want to have a vaguely functional relationship with various premiers? I’m sure he knows oil and gas is going to be a white elephant soon, and nobody wants to fund a long-term investment in it.

Then again, all that money in an American stranglehold is pretty scary.

We need to shut down all the oil pumps in Fort St. John.

Every drop of oil pushes us further past the tipping point of runaway global warming. This shows that Carney has no real commitment to fighting climate change.

Ah yes, everyone knows that a pipeline is Carneys most cherished dream. Ignore everything else about the man, he and he alone wants a pipeline and damn it he will get it!

While prioritizing civilization terrorism is always the first resort, a railway could outlast dead ender energy compared to a pipeline. Quicker/cheaper and able to transport anything of use across the country and to ports for export. New northern routes can mitigate the danger of accidents, and access cheap land that eventually increases population. Expanding Thunder Bay ports for more St Lawrence shipping, and Canadian built ships is a lot of steel use too. Would free up passenger rail traffic in windsor-Quebec corridor.
