@stux Speaking from personal experience, as a kid something like that is *never* a happy experience (in my instance it was because my single parent mom was in an accident - so of to child services we go. The GM said it was CR 16, which sounds incredibly high, but we are 5 10th level characters, so maybe it's not bad? It still could have messed us up if we were in melee.Fun fact: ranged weapon attacks under water have disadvantage in 2024. However, ranged spell attacks are normal! We found the stuff. I say this because I am thinking of doing #dungeon26 and "Gormenghast but a megadungeon" was a thing I thought of. Hardchurch Manor could be that. It's out in the forests and has been there for a hundred years; it has some but limited connection with areas outside it; internally it's chaotic and nobody really rules it as such, so factions, levels, whatever.
