The expected starters are Max Scherzer and Shohei Ohtani

Ah jesus christ. We didn’t get the review call. Thought the catcher’s foot was off the base! it clearly showed. we left 3 runners on base in 9th. damn it.

Damn. The Dodgers really locked in offensively and defensively in the latter half. They didn’t need Ohtani. 3 solos 2 double plays.

I think he was out, the foot looked to land back on the plate first, but does IKF beat the throw if he head first dives? Suppose we’ll never know.

I’m really glad the strike challenge is coming in next year. The strike zones were far too variable not just in the World Series, but the entire playoffs.

An incorrect call can have huge implications, like Jays winning game 3 if Varsho walks as he should have and Bo not getting tagged out in the confusion. Not just the Jays either. Smith’s strikeout in the 9th tonight was on a wide pitch too, and there were many other poor calls for a game 7. It’s just far too late to be relying on some dude behind the plate when we’ve had the technology for years.

With that, the Jays did far better than expected. Many were saying Dodgers in 5 or 6 with their pitching staff. The Jays fought a team with an obscene payroll to the bitter end, really 8 games plus two innings, and it was just a couple lucky home runs off missed pitches that did them in.

Hell of a season, hope for more of the same next year, see y’all then!

Such a tough loss last night. But Bassitt looks incredible out there. Sasaki looked very hittable. Varsho won’t have as bad of a game at the plate again. Jays win in 7, LFG!!!

Went downtown to watch the game hoping to join a street party…

Ended up riding th GO with a bunch of depressed jays fans

I have no words… inconsolable… i’ve only seen the jays win in world series… they were 2/2 prior to tonight… this is the first time i’ve seen the jays lose in a WS… hurts as an adult… my kids seem ok and they are the same age i was in '93…

GG. Good season. See you next spring

Hopefully we’ll keep this lemmy community alive over the offseason

Thanks https://lemmy.ca/u/streetfestival for the game day threads!

That was a tough loss. They were so close so many times. They were two outs away. They were one fly ball away. They were one swing away.

If they had just lost, I’d be disappointed, but it’d mostly be nothing. The fact that they had it within their grasp multiple times last night, though, just absolutely burned out my adrenal system.
