        At least you knew what to do.

        When I was younger, I once encountered an old woman near a local retirement home who asked me to help her to get to a certain bus station, but her explanations seemed confused. I had not made the connection with dementia, and did not know what to do.

        Fortunately, a nurse who was driving by spotted us and took her back.
