@dhfir I usually don't assume trans<masc or femme> connotate gender, only direction. Like transfem enbys are still transfem?transmasc enbys are still transmasc? Edited for clarity. It's different for everyone.

@CharlotteEowyn I mean I understand your point but from what I've heard Public Universal Friend transitioned more in the direction of a biblically accurate angel than anything related to the paltry limitations of human flesh. -

@aphyr @CharlotteEowyn yep was gonna comment on that part too. had some people get really pissy about being corrected on that before though, because apparently the facts are less important than sticking to the established narrative. which I find kinda disrespectful to the people involved.

@CharlotteEowyn It is 2023. A judge determines that trans healthcare is not covered. We are back at: It is too new and experimental. Trans people get more bureacracy. And people discuss phony cass retorts and ban HRT.
Post pandemic brought a new kind of fascism to Germany. Two trans people were injured that badly that one has consequences her entire life long. Another trans man died in Munster. Hate crime protection is too new and “antifreedom”. -
@CharlotteEowyn it's the early 1600s, you are Antonio de Erauso, an infamous former nun who ran away from the convent and then lived as a man and made a career in the Spanish navy, had violent encounters with other men that almost always ended in the death of these men, had affairs with lots of women and when finally confronted with the authorities for some of these murders they were so surprised you were assigned female at birth and also an "intact virgin" that a bishop decided to pardon you for all your crimes and said you were "one of the most notable people in the world". (want to preface this with I Love This Thread, just wanted to clarify how I think about my nonbinary gender)
I don't see myself as a "transmasc enby" - I did at one point but I have since realized that the 'direction' I'm going in is neither masc or femme. I'm just nonbinary/genderqueer/agender/genderfluid - when my therapist asked me what my ideal physical configuration would be, he didn't really know what to make of my answer, which is "a shimmery cloud of gas" like a nebula or something. but because he is a great therapist we sort of followed that thread and landed on "and that's why caftans give me gender euphoria"
I, at one point, considered myself transmasc but stopped that when I thought harder about "masculinity" and what that would mean for me, and specifically whether I wanted to go on T. I decided I'm happy with the amount of masculine I already am, so the direction has mostly been "away from the unpleasant parts of my AFAB body" and not necessarily towards a more masculine ID.
and when I consider what "more masculine" would mean for me - there's the physical stuff like the effects of T, there's social stuff like being treated like a man, there's stuff that can't change like height (which for whatever dumb reason is 'masculine') - and I am not aiming at any of that. I'm not aiming at "more feminine" either. I'm aiming in a totally different direction, and I get the feeling that's what PUF was doing too.
tl;dr gender is complicated.
