There are much smaller, but no less meaningful popular uprising against data centers happening all over America at this point.

I’ve seen video of communities erupting in a chorus of joy as one amongst them declare that the data center proposal has been rejected.

People are fighting back, and people are organizing but a general strike may not be feasible here.

when YOU strike you aren't likely to lose your job, and with it the health insurance for your entire family.

Yes, people have to take risks, but there is absolutely no safety net in this country and you can't mutual aid a root canal, or a cardiac bypass; not everyone can afford that risk.

it's really easy to say that when you don't live under the foot of the largest militarized police state in the world. we are trying, and they're killing us. we're too hyper-individualized and many of us have no close friends or connections of any kind (including myself).

i understand your feelings on this, and i feel the same way myself, but you have to understand, we are scared shit-less right now.

@grrlscientist 300 million is likely a massive over estimate. From what I can tell, it appears to have originated from one of the Stalinist parties in India and they have quite a bit to gain from over estimating. It does sound like quite a few million joined and it was pretty widespread.
