Ring's AI-powered Search Party feature helps reunite lost dogs with their families.

When a neighbor reports a lost dog in the Ring app, nearby outdoor Ring cameras automatically begin scanning for potential matches. Using AI, these cameras look for dogs that resemble the one reported and alert the camera owners if there’s a possible match. The Ring app then shows you the missing dog’s photo alongside the relevant camera footage.

@Da_Gut I'm still not buying a Ring (or really any surveillance devices).

@bedirthan @Da_Gut I WFH, my neighborhood and city are safe, and I own a good-sized dog, a Ring seems unnecessary even not considering all the ethical quandaries.

@Tim_Eagon I’m not either. 🙂 even as much as I like dogs.
If my cognition issues keep getting worse though - I might get one of the new Alexa devices. But that would only subject me and potentially a roommate not the entire neighborhood.

@Da_Gut I have a few Alexas in our house. I'm not sure I'd buy them today, but they're fine and don't seem to spy on me too much.

@Tim_Eagon they have new models coming out at the end of the month. They are specifically designed to interface with their AI. I will go for one if I am struggling with things. I really really really do not want to move back to Georgia.
