    I think that this album got lumped in with grunge-mania at the time, which is slightly unfair. It’s their seventh album, and pretty much in the same post-punk/experimental vein as previous releases. This is a varied selection of songs, alternating between vocals from Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, and occasionally descending into howls of feedback and distorted guitars to thrilling effect. Good stuff.

      @satsuma I don't get the disdain out of some quarters for their Geffen records. Sure, I guess they're slightly more poppier than their earlier work, and the production is definitely more polished, but those albums aren't that different from Daydream Nation, Evol, Sister, etc. And IMO, they kick ass.

        @Tim_Eagon @satsuma Agreed. Honestly, I love everything by Sonic Youth (especially the Silver Sessions but I like noise) except when they try to get mellow and vocal-heavy.
