I am procrastinating SO HARD today. I hate my essay at this point. I want to rip it to shreds. I do not want to even think about the East Kolkata Wetlands. How tf do people dedicate their lives to one topic for a PhD. FOr me it's barely been 3 weeks and I am already EXHAUSTED.

@madhu_shrieks this is why i prefer(ed) having multiple projects. if i get bored of or stuck at one, i can always switch to the other as a breather. i could actually get work done this way, even as a pro procrastinator

@viz @madhu_shrieks wait you actually got to DO the other projects? i have tried this before, and all my time was spent task switching and ended up with multiple unfinished side side side projects
edit: i was talking about free software projects and random short term obsessions. didn't realise this was about PhD/masters. i don't even have a college degree lol -

These days, I mainly switch between the assorted tasks of translating folk tales... and improving my Italian vocabulary.
The latter is particularly useful for procrastinating, and I even get something useful out of it!

@juergen_hubert @madhu_shrieks my dept finals/mid term was so boring that I had to condition myself into revising for it by starting a novel/light novel a couple days before finals began. This way, I would force myself to revise quickly enough to get to continue reading the novel lol

It's something I got better at as I got older. But I was a total mess at this in my younger days.

Whatever works, and helps us get our tasks done.
