I (like presumably many of you) don't like DRM & the "anti-circumvention" laws backing them up.

Though to be clear I don't oppose copyright, even if how long it lasts is dubious.
As far as I'm concerned granting major studios (individual artists don't have the sway to exercise DRM) say in the software I use to enjoy their work is far too much power for them to hold! Not to mention all the other (anti-repair) ways DRM has been abused.

DVDs were DRM'd, though they've long been cracked now. Now streaming-only services are the continuation of the DRM-fight.
So my position: Give me a proper download link, or I'm not paying attention!
I see others switching back to physical media for similar reasons.
Trouble is anything remotely mainstream is from a publisher who demands DRM. I can happily go for (true) indies, but for whatever reason it can be a struggle to get others to treat them seriously.
2/2 Fin!

This is quite a minor grievance compared to everything else that is happening... But as @pluralistic is arguing: It might hold the key to peacefully overturning the world order! To undermining Silicon Valley, & in turn the US.
What reason do other countries have for respecting US trade agreements under Trump? The ones obligating us to enact these laws?
3/2 Truly fin!
