#Monsterdon is a weekly fediverse community event (Sundays @ 9 PM ET) where a bunch of folks watch a monster/SF movie of some description in sync with each other and post about it.

What a great movie. This is by far the modern goji that I would say is closest to being my favorite if not for the power of the original's messaging (which cannot be defeated IMHO)
I was a little skeptical in the beginning but I really enjoyed the way it developed its characters, made Godzilla truly feel like a menacing threat, and had plenty of good drama connective tissue. And even stayed relatively faithful to the nuclear horror allegory, if not undercut it a fair bit with the militarism.
