This reminds of playing 4e (or was it 5e?) when it just came out - the 2 basic healing classes were cleric and warlord.

I loved to joke that while a cleric would have to appeal to a higher power to literally knit your wounds together my dwarf would shout “rub some dirt on it!” And it would have exactly the same effect.

The best magical library books are the ones that have to be held shut with chains.

Is that why they die in 1d4 of damage?

“Also, thousands of gold worth of ink and reagents. Basically you have to be old money rich to be a wizard, or appropriate a bunch of riches from dudes who own way too large basements.”

Draw Steel fixes this by naming its health resource stamina. You’re using up your stamina avoiding and tanking hits. The tactician can inspire you to get your second wind.

A wizard that relies on HP to stay alive is a wizard with poor judgement.

“How do I find the most powerful spell books?”

“Don’t worry. If they’re powerful enough, they’ll find you.”
