Everything from the rules of the game to the GM guide to the pre written game settings are written with the assumption that players and the gm will be respectful and kind, but no you could absolutely try to play the game about connection-seeking queers fighting oppression and finding family as a bigot

In Dark Heresy 2e a 100 o Perils of the Warp table is instant death and you then roll to see if a DAEMON OF CHAOS shows up in the place you were standing on.

But also, you might find a bristlecone pine who has been alone since their youth and speaks a dead language.

I always had an idea for a haunted zombie. A zombie haunted by its own ghost.

Here’s a way to have everyone meet based on this post: The first person makes up any backstory. The second person explains how they’re somehow involved in the first. Then maybe when you get to the end, the first guy goes again, and explains how his story is related to the last guy.

I have no doubt that there would be those trying to make technologies that negate the need for magic, and I’m sure that many would see success in such endeavors. However, I think that regardless of they invent, someone else will then come along and make the same thing, but further enhanced with magic in some novel fashion. In my mind, magic isn’t inherently special, it’s just another set of technologies that, like any other, allow the leveraging properties of the natural world to accomplish a task more efficiently. Secondly, the roles of production and R&D would be separate only if the scale of production is large enough. I’m thinking this would start at the local blacksmith level, where working the forge and creating new alloys may absolutely be done by the same person (or team) who is passionate about their craft. If the world jumped directly from that era to the factory era overnight, you’re absolutely correct that the evolution of a wizard from worker to researcher doesn’t make much sense. But, that’s not how society evolves—it’s a gradual process. And I think that in an environment of gradual evolution, those that understand the most fundamental secrets of the craft on an intuitive level from the beginning often end up being near the top of the food chain in the end. I think perhaps also the scale I have in mind is just smaller than what you’re imagining, which could lead to our differing views. Neither is more or less correct I don’t think.

I had one of these in my last game. It wasn’t as obvious as some of the others being commented on here, but there were still just two pieces to put together. Fact 1: the players learned that the evil cultists are being lied to by the cult leader— the promised vision of a glorious future that solves all the world’s problems is not, amazingly enough, a genuine glimpse of the future, no matter how emotionally fulfilling and sensorially overwhelming it seemed to them. They have complete proof of this. Fact 2: evil cultist minion who is obtaining godlike powers from a ritual has written in her diary about how horrified she is at all the terrible things that they’ve been doing in the cult, and that it’s only the complete certainty that she has of the promised future where all the world’s problems are solved that keeps her going. If there was even a single crack in this belief, she wouldn’t be able to go on doing all the horrible evil shit the cult leader is having them do. Can you guys put the two pieces together? Please? Can I remind you of the two pieces of this puzzle again? How about a third time? No? The only solution you see is to kill the cultist after she’s obtained godlike powers? Ooookaaayyy….

in pf2e a round is also 6 seconds, and you can also attack 3 times in a turn, it’s just that you get -5 on the attack roll for the second and -10 for the third (or -4 and -8 for agile weapons) so you could also kill 3 people in one turn, if your level is high enough
