If anybody is wondering when the review embargo for Mindseye expires… there isn’t one, as the publisher isn’t providing any review copies to publications.

Does it matter who says what before it’s released? If it’s good people will review it on release and say it’s good. If it’s bad people will play it and say it’s bad.

A lot of gamers, just like movie goers, do pay attention to reviews. If you have limited funds, especially as games get more expensive, you may pay more attention to what the community says prior to purchase.

If you’re arguing against me I’m trying to say the same thing as you I’m saying wait for actual reviews after the game is released. Right now we have the developer saying it’s a good game and people online who say it’s bad based on some pre release footage which neither have any real merit.

It kind of does, early reviews and sentiment can have a big impact on how well the game does long term.

I understand it does, but I’m arguing that sentiment shouldn’t matter before there’s any reviews. There are no early reviews yet.

It shouldn’t but people (especially in the context of something “not important” like gaming) as a mass do not operate on logic.

So I guess I agree; but, you’re probably wasting your breath “yelling into the wind.”

I guess, put another way, I’ve done it many times/used to think more this way and I think I might have appreciated more nudges that “… yeah you’re right but people are going to people regardless of what makes sense.”

If he KNOWS, he should make it public and PROVE it. Everything else i file away under misinformation. Thanks.
