I love that game. Played it multiple times. I should again. It’s been a while.

Such a fun game

I never liked the game: they broke the classical point-and-click concept with time-dependent things. Do something and then quickly do something else before something third happens. Pffft. But it was the last nice-looking(with some obvious shitty prerenders but retouched to look ok) Lukas Arts game – later we got that horrendous 3d attempt for monkey Island 4 and Grim Fandango. Sad times…

I’m not putting my lips on that
Nah, she’s got a wrench
Open up Todd!
Let me show you how to do that…
She took my booster fuel!
… Asphalt… And trouble

I had to play with a guide. Completely impossible to do without it

I never played Grim Fandango but I was under the impression it was well liked.

Yes, for the reason unknown to me Grim Fandango was acclaimed while Monkey Island 4 was booed. Both share one rather inconvenient engine.

Both games are good, in my opinion, though. It’s just that Curse of Monkey Island was better. Many people hated the controls, but you get used to them.

Awesome soundtrack by The Gone Jackals

To be fair, Grim Fandango atleast had been updated at some point to accomodate classic point-n-clickery. On release it had playstation-style tank controls. Fun game, good story.

As for Money Island, I think the console release of Escape had better controls and may be the preferable versions to play.

I enjoyed playing it back in the day even if it took several tries to understand what the game wanted you to do, the parts that gave me the most gripe was finding out how to jump the canyon and how to fight the Cavefish.
I was fond of adventure games just not good at them because at that age my English was not good enough, but here comes Full Throttle and Day of The Tentacle that are funny and i can play through to the end.
