Question for those who do #ttrpgs; how do you feel about having a crafting system for upgrading your equipment, where a non trivial part of your loot is the material for crafting, but you can opt out of it by selling that stuff and just buying things?

Question for those who do #ttrpgs; how do you feel about having a crafting system for upgrading your equipment, where a non trivial part of your loot is the material for crafting, but you can opt out of it by selling that stuff and just buying things? I personally like the fantasy of crafting and being an Artificer but I know others don't, but I also don't love "spend 30 days and 1/2 cost in gold and tada craft a thing". Trying to strike a balance.

@snugug That's how Battlezoo's monster parts crafting system more or less works for PF2e.
