    (no spoilers herein)

People are all "Well, Sorcerers didn't come to D&D until third edition, which came out in August of 2000, so seeing them being referenced in Stranger Things season 5, which is set in 1987, is a HUGE blunder," but in the Stranger Things timeline Mike Wheeler gets a job with Wizards of the Coast as class designer in 1994 and eventually introduces the class he homebrewed with his friends back in Hawkins in the '80s.
