I'm so done with 80+ degree weather in late September, early October! Eagerly awaiting tonight's cold front, which will bring more reasonable temperatures.

@chgowiz @Tim_Eagon I'm curious. How does temperature affect deer hunting?
Do cool deer get slower? Does smell travel less?

@yora @chgowiz I'm not a deer hunter, but I know that being out in the woods with all your gear in the heat sucks. Also, dead animals in the heat is no bueno!

@yora @Tim_Eagon Deer are like any animal, in hot weather, they conserve energy and stay out of the heat. When there's a cold snap, they'll get a lot more active quickly, like being cooped up and then allowed to go out.

At least that's my observations and experiences.

@Tim_Eagon You'd be surprised. I've seen things be OK up to 24 hours or so after, especially if it's a clean (no gut) shot. @yora

@chgowiz @Tim_Eagon One thing that I experienced working outdoors is that the optimal working temperature for human bodies is 20°C.
Everything warmer than that get uncomfortable for anything except standing and sitting around.

I imagine for animals with fur, the optimal temperature would be even lower.

@yora Wild animals are all about energy use/conservation. @Tim_Eagon
