Just started playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild with 10yo and it really does live up to the Hype. It’s my first Zelda since Ocarina on 3DS and incredible how they can make it so much more advanced, and yet still the same nostalgic touchpoints.

Also: the last console we owned in our household was the Xbox 360 two decades ago. Before having a family, and with a lot more disposable income, I remember being really wasteful with games. I’d buy one and not get that far into it before buying something else that had just been released. But now I feel an obligation to complete games before we move to the next. And of course with Switch we can take our pick of the best of the entire catalogue rather than just going for what’s new and shiny.

Wish list for our Switch includes: Super Mario Galaxy 1&2; Zelda: Tales of the Kingdom; probably one of the Metroid games (never tried one so keen to hear recommendations suitable for a newbie); Diablo 3 (because I loved the first two games on PC in late 90s); maybe one of the Super Smash Bros games?
