Question: Are there any books (in English, German, or Italian) which detail the trade network of Renaissance/early Modern #Venice in Germany and the German-speaking regions of the European Alps

@juergen_hubert wild-- I realized I don't actually know how to search for books. I can search scholar.google.com for Venice and Alpine trade routes of the Renaissance, which leads to some interesting works, but that's not books usually.
Given Germany didn't exist then, is there another target you could use? I found some stuff on the Holy Roman Empire and Venice trade, which I think was a lot of Germany at that time?

Yeah, the HRE would work as well.

@juergen_hubert I also find this question hugely interesting. Some aspects of it are treated by David Abulafia in his fantastic book "The Great Sea" https://www.ancientportsantiques.com/wp-content/uploads/Documents/AUTHORS/Abulafia2014-HistoryMediterranean.pdf https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Sea:_A_Human_History_of_the_Mediterranean

@juergen_hubert
May I assume you've already scoured Fernand Braudel's works? -
