    I remember iOS being a few gigs in total years and years ago

    @stux Another reason Iโ€™m happy to be hanging back on iOS 18 for as long as a sensibly can ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

      @stux

      But you asked for all the AI slop to be soldered into it, didn't you?
      Oh, wait...

        @stux If an OS image is more than 3-4GB in size, the developers have failed

          @chasalin @harld @stux 68KB of memory is below DOOM's minimum requirements, I'm pretty sure.

              @stux I ainโ€™t never upgrading to iOS 26 if I can help it. Stick with 18.7.2! I donโ€™t like the look of liquid glass personally

              @sayonaraminasan @stux I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 18 that will not be updated to iOS 26, partly because I need it for developing apps, but also because iOS 26 is not very nice. It's all just fancy schmancy nonsense instead of what we need. While iOS might've needed a refresh, Liquid Glass was not the answer. It's got so many bugs and issues that won't get fixed. We're 5 months after release, and obvious bugs aren't fixed.

              Apple's developers moved onto iOS 27. This is how it goes now.

                @darkpaw same bro. Phone does what I need as it. I can only imagine that performance will be worse if I update it.

                        @stux I feel like they intentionally make them large so customers run out of storage and need to upgrade
