@noheger @aaronbushnell Someone needs to sit the Apple VPs down with their own products and force them to use them for a week. They clearly don’t use them right now.

@noheger Like Space Invaders, you shouldn't aim where your target is, but where it would be.

@noheger may this travesty cause Jobs rotate in his grave like a rotting rotisserie chicken

@noheger Huh... So I guess iPadOS has passed macOS in this regard...

@noheger The XFCE desktop has a really nice take on resizing windows.
Alt+Right-mouse-click somewhere in quite a large area near any corner of a window does the same as trying to find the much smaller window resize area in any corner.
I find this very useful as my patience and hand-eye coordination deteriorate (generally and by varying degrees on given days) as I get older.
Maybe other desktops have similar systems.

Again a ‘yes it’s here’ alert that seems geared towards visionOS, trying to train devs AND users to hesitate and wait for an affirmation.
Which we all hate compared to simple everyday fast interaction
It’s because our eyes don’t grab everything they look at that everything now has to ask, ‘Are you sure?’

@noheger Wow, that... would drive me crazy...
I get why it does it of course. Internally it's still a rectangle even if it's presented externally as rounded edges. But how are people without long time computing experience going to know that the actual window extends further than where you actually see?

@the_wub @noheger I think that's basically an X11 custom, Alt+LMB to move, Alt+RMB to resize. Should be available on most "normal" desktop environments

Windows, for all its flaws, had some thick window borders for a while (Win 8? 8.1?) then later visually thinner but they were still easy to hit, like there was a part that didn't look like a border but still counted towards resizing. I found them really pleasant at the time, didn't have to pixel hunt!

@noheger It has made me double down my use of a window manager (Better Snap Tool) so I don’t have to deal with it

@noheger So they just increased the radius but kept the resize point

@noheger That was worse than I expected.
Apple could dramatically improve UX by migrating to unmodified KDE. And supporting KDE devs going forward. -

@noheger I am not "upgrading" any of my iPhones, iPads or Macs to Liquid Ass, and am well on my way to switch to Linux full-time. Apple has jumped the shark, and people who make excuses for them are just demonstrating Stockholm Syndrome.
@fazalmajid @noheger Thinking about this as well, after ~40 years of using Apple products. Although in my case admittedly only partly because of how rubbish much of Tahoe is, more because of the general enshittification of Apple, the company, the products, and the politics.
