Being incredibly pressured to add alt-text to images means that it takes MORE time to insert an image instead of writing something, so this just is not a visual-item-as-shortcut kinda space.

ie: meme reactions never really took off here.

... accessibility does, sometimes, have a cost. I won't begrudge people needing textual descriptions of visual items, but it means that we don't (here) use visual shortcuts like other platforms did/do.

Ah, the egirls have found a particular subreddit which had a distinct 'no content creators' flavour to it, but no standing rule against it.

Suddenly, it's alllllllll very much the same, standardised kinda loadout of the same lighting, camera angles, post titles, etc.

Inevitably, inexorably, someone will make a 'hey, why are there so many ladies trying to pimp an onlyfans account? it's a bit obnoxious' post, and then they'll be firmly slammed into the ground because 'they're posting, so fuck youuuuu, be grateful', and the sub will become just another one like the thousands out there with the same mislabelled, not really matching the vibe content.

Ah well.

There's definitely this weird little cultural thing with people who post nudes, where some do it DISTINCTLY for fun, and they bring a particular vibe.

... and then there's the 'I wanna make money off this' folks^ and they bring a VERY markedly different vibe, and it takes a while that to sink in: they're advertising.

Advertising is fine, but, as I've said before: people need to opt-in to it, not have it flooded at them. Even if it's nice tits.

... but this is the same for all casual/relaxed spaces that people start sorta... just being a bit more professional and suddenly, you look around and it's only pseudo-high quality 'wanna sell you something' posts.

I still remember imgur before all the commercial astroturfing, it was mostly tits.
