Paid subscribers to my Bad Astronomy Newsletter can find out how amateur astronomers are helping probe the depths of Jupiter's atmosphere. I also review a lovely short film starring Olivia Coleman about, of all things, the Kármán Line!

@badastro Mildly confusing, but in Colorado Springs we’ll be voting on an issue allowing an ridiculous addition to the city limits called the Karman Line.
Not sure why it’s called it that, other than there’s a thin road leading to where they want to build housing for one of the local Spaaaace Forrrrce bases.

Colorado Springs voters are deciding on a controversial land annexation on June 17. Here's what to know

The so-called Karman Line Addition is about 1,900 acres connected to the southeast side of the city via a strip of land. Potential development plans call for around 6,500 homes along with other infrastructure. Ballots must be returned by June 17 at 7 p.m.
