Remember "don't print this email" in signatures that was a bit cringe? It doesn't feel that cringe anymore in retrospect. I'm doing an experiment now with this new email signature

@mntmn ah I love this! I always thought the "don't print this email" message was wild, why would anyone print an email? And then a year ago I got a job at a warehouse where the boss (my age, mid 30s) printed SO MANY EMAILS. I had never seen anything like it and I could not dissuade her from doing it. Nor could I convince her to digitize paper records. Nor could I convince her not to use ChatGPT. I quit that job.

@mntmn I never use Ai but I ask people to send me an email instead of sms or a whatsapp which I don't use either. My thought on this is that sending an email doesn't cost so much water than when I people use Ai. I write my own e-mails, born last century in 1967.

We were talking about these signatures a few days ago! I knew people in the 2000’s who only read emails when printed…. Good idea!
