        @adhdjesse Thanks for reminding me of the gaming PC I built that’s now living in its box in the basement.

            @adhdjesse
            And also tracking a new version of the thing that supersed the thing you never used and feel some guilt and FOMO about buying it in the first place and missing out new features

                @adhdjesse And then you move and rediscover all of those boxes and start the cycle anew (hopefully minus the purchasing part)

                  @adhdjesse are we talking about the empty NAS enclosure that's sitting in the other room? 🥲

                      @adhdjesse Curious. Last year I’ve been diagnosed with mild version of #ADHD and this description is as far from me as possible. I do overfocus on [new thing], buuuut then it takes immense amounts to jump on actually spending money and hoarding things. So usually I rather not start at all.

                        @MichalBryxi @adhdjesse This is my main struggle as well. I think that fits in the executive function challenge of “Task Inititation”. The gap from “thinking about doing thing" to "doing the thing" is a grand canyon to me.

                        Task initiation is not about laziness—it's a complex executive function that connects motivation, emotional regulation, and action.
