    The state treats the MTA like an ATM

      I am amazed that people see this as miraculous and not what politicians who are elected by the people are supposed to do everywhere, every day.

      Choose them for what they do, not what they say

        Zohran Mamdani had +38 approval upon his election. In under 2 months he’s:
        •Secured universal childcare
        •Paid New Yorkers $30/hour & survived a blizzard without disruption
        •Remained wholly honest about the massive budget crisis NYC faces
        •Demanded Hochul tax billionaires instead of working people
        •Got Trump to commit $12B to NYC for affordable housing, and
        •Did it ALL without corporate money

        His approval is now +48.

        Almost like working people love public servants who fight for working people.🤯

        @QasimRashid

        It's amazing how the world doesn't stop turning because publicly elected officials in NY actually work for the public

        The UK should take note... Labour would have won the recent by election if the Labour Government had done what the public want and acted for the people in the UK and not for the benefit of foreign Governments... and the ultra wealthy.... plus not to try and pander to the right and out reform.. reform

          @QasimRashid Especially after years of politicians not doing anything they say, to actually help their citizens.
          You'd think Mamdami is from another country. 😉

          On a side note, even Israel has universal health care, you'd think that the rest of the US wouldn't follow in Mamdami's footsteps.

            did people go "it's not faiiir waah"?

            no, they VOTED and chose mamdani

            Also, you can make the Dems suck less through primaries.

              If approval is 48% and disapproval is 32%, you can say his approval rate is 48%. Or you can calculate the difference and say it's +16. So @QashimRashid@mastdon.social is wrong.

              For it to be +48, you would need something like 74 vs 26. (If there were no don't knows).

              Yes, there's something broken.

                @benroyce
                Remember the question I've asked you and it's left dangling, about what is the difference between the Democrat establishment and Mamdani, and how it can make people stop not voting.

                Those things listed by @QasimRashid are the consequences of the answer: honestly addressing people's needs and wants.

                Not comparing non-voters to MAGA.
