I refuse to make extra costs in the first week I’m here, let the mice wreck it all
I'll just ignore it all for now, don't wanna risk the chance of getting on the bad list with our landlord..
That's a downside though, i can't say anything..

When I lived in the family house, the yellow necked mice (geelhalsbosmuis) got in to the garage but they never got in the house - although my cat didn't catch them himself but just signalled to me where they were (by looking up to me like hunting dog does
) - he did at least keep them confined to certain places.. -

We had mice after cowboy builders left scaffolding up for more than a year.
We didn't pay for an exterminator: we bought half a dozen mixed traps, tied them securely to uprights, baited them with peanut butter, and emptied the traps twice a day. Within just a few days, all the mice were gone.
Mice spread disease and will gnaw through your possessions. I can't recommend ignoring them.

@stux make sure to keep everything recorded and backed up so if the landlord tries to pull a fast one on you, you can cover your own butt.

@stux A friend has raccoons living in the attic of their apartment. The landlord doesn't care for some damn reason. Her husband decided to start shooting them as they come and go from the hole in the attic air vent.

@stux There are more effective ways to deal with mice than using a rifle. Crazy that no one called the cops on him for firing a gun in the city.
