    I honestly think Dutch is how American English would sound to me if I didn't know English.

    With a little bit more guttural sounds, too.

      @rl_dane @Wolf With the Dutch it's often one of two ways:

      They speak a little english with a huge accent or they speak english really well without a trace

      I've not met someone "in between" lol

        And the Dutch that speak perfect English often speak it better than most Americans.

        For me it seems,
        written Dutch = Perfectly understandable
        Spoken Dutch = Klingon

        I assume for the average Netherlander:
        Spoken English = Of course we understand it, we hear it all the time
        Written English = WTF is wrong with you people?

          @Wolf @rl_dane Haha oh yess sometimes..

          You won't believe how often my gf and me are correcting a US person in a video or Kimmel Live or whatever!

          Also with funny facts or something, how come we know it better then americans while we never visited even haha!
