I am curious how much the GabeCube (as it has widely been christened) will actually cost.

I am curious how much the GabeCube (as it has widely been christened) will actually cost. The specs don't sound all that much better than my current PC, and that's hardly a barn-burner as it stands.

Eh, at the base of all of this is that what I *want* is the reliability of a console with the flexibility of a PC, and that's a desire that's kinda fundamentally at odds with the reality of things these days.
Like, what I want out of a machine is a low price point, no subscription costs, and to not have to update my own drivers and troubleshoot every time a program stubs its toe. These days, you get -- MAYBE -- two out of three.

@CactuarJoe will be interesting to see if steam machine gets anywhere this time around. I could see myself getting one eventually just for the form factor. Laser targeted to my needs.
And gawd that really is a good nickname.
Shame that info page dodges price or if it'll include a controller.

@xerozohar Yeah, agreed. It looks nice, but I have many questions.
