Annoying the difference between medicated me and unmedicated me right now

woooo i napped so hard Min had to headbutt me in the stomach at dinner time 8D;

I'm lookin' forward to making chicken stock tomorrow. Feels like I'm constructing a missile in my garage that I'm gonna launch at an enemy in *precisely* 24 hours.

Did I mention I went to the grocery store today? Picked up food for the week and some cough syrup and when I had to present my ID (because they want to make sure it's only adults making meth) the cashier took my ID and automatically punched in my DOB while saying "I hope you feel better soon ):"

And then in the parking lot a couple offered to return my cart for me

so I guess I must've LOOKED sick is what I'm saying ^^;;

"The use of unnecessary violence in the apprehension of the Blues Brothers

The final car chase is probably my favorite part of the whole movie just because it contains so many absurd stunts and Looney Tunes bits.

So you get a lot of great instances of my favorite thing about the movie, which is Super Weird Shit Happens All Around The Blues Brothers And They Don't React

See, there's a subtext to The Blues Brothers that Jake and Elwood are *literally* on a mission from God, it's not just an excuse. So the random shit and goofy stunts isn't just Saturday Night Live jokes or Looney Tunes logic, it's LITERALLY, TEXTUALLY miraculous.

Or, to put it another way, God caused a 1979 Dodge Monaco to spontaneously ramp a cop car.

Also, this reading of the movie casts the cops and the military in the role of servants of the forces of evil

which is nice

'Course it's also worth mentioning that God's protection fails spectacularly *the very instant* the Blues Brothers complete their task.

My other other other favorite thing about this movie;

The silence at the beginning of the film, with Jake alone in prison, versus the INTENSELY LOUD MUSIC AND RIOT at the end with Jake together with everyone in prison

It wasn't jail because Jake got arrested, it was jail because Jake was there by himself
