Do you mean the Quote function, that was introduced end of last year in the newest version of mastodon?

@Morgunin Is that how it manifests? On other platforms you see the quoted post... I seem to be seing stuff where it is literally just a url

@Taskerland If they just reply to the post then the 'engagement' goes to the OP. Quote posting / linking to the post provides more social media dopamine for the afflicted.

@Taskerland @Morgunin If you're using an app it's possible that the app doesn't fully support quote posts yet and it falls back to displaying the quoted post as a link.
(For example, Tusky displays "RE: (url)" and then the comment below it.)
