@mjdxp@labyrinth.zone right? I think a lot of users are looking for a content stream or a consumer of their content, more than a 'social' experience. Sure, you can get content on a social experience but spreading and receiving it isn't the goal. The fediverse just isn't well suited for reliably getting all the newest memes, celebrity gossip, etc.

It's kinda like an addict who hates all the things the substance does to them, but they still really want that high. If they don't realize the two are inseparable on their own, there isn't much you can do.
