I love the Manaclipper

Before more ways to teleport were added to the game, you could take boats or airship to get somewhere quickly. These aren't just for show, they are fully in-world and other players riding alongside you appear on it as well.
These public transits operate on a real-time schedule 24/7, and there are some very rare instances where you still need to use one. For example, if you want to get to Purgonorgo Isle, which has no teleportation option.
Or if you're a new player and traveling between Mhaura and Selbina for the first time (before unlocking its teleport crystal), you can use it to speed things up.
Real time public transit in MMOs has always fascinated me, and I'm glad they're still around despite cheap teleportation being added in 2013.

@risa Just some of the many reasons why I still play 11, it is by far one of my top three Final Fantasy games, and second favourite MMO of all time.

@risa I'm on Carbuncle, a fairly low-population server. I moved there because a couple of friends of mine made their characters there. In the event that you somehow also play there, I'd love to!

@risa That's understandable! I have sometimes considered asking my friends if they want to move to Bahamut, but the longer I mull on it the more friends I make on Carbuncle so it's tough.
Apropos active subscriptions, have you used your free days to claim the Bonanza coupon and anniversary freebies?

@risa The only requirement is that you haven't had a subscription after May 13th, it'll last until the 26th.
http://www.playonline.com/ff11eu/campaign/wcb/index.htmlIf you log in before sometime in June, you'll get a Mog Kupon to claim a 1st prize Bonanza weapon(!!), up until now they were egregiously rare since, obviously, you had to get 1st prize in the Bonanza Lottery.
Here's a list of weapons, they're all pretty decent. I went with the WHM staff since it alone caps Cure Potency I, will do me good until I gear up properly.
https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Kupon_W-MOGBAs for Carbuncle, it's as mentioned very low population, only a few hundred players online at a given moment. 427 people right now.
However, because of that you tend to run into human interactions more consistently, just not as often as Bahamut.
I like it a lot, people are super nice here.
I came here from Asura which was incredibly busy and also full of botters and mercenaries. Bahamut I hear is a better server for those who want a populated server, but with a more casual environment. -
